Cogito, ergo sum - "I think , therefore I am" - Descartes
i am currently reading this book called "Quiet Your Mind" by John Selby..
am i crazy or what? that i need to quieten my mind..
:D
i just read the first few pages of this book and here is what I learnt :
"Related studies also indicate that we must choose between being absorbed in deductive verbal reasoning (a past-future function of the mind) and direct experience of the world (a present-moment function of the mind) - because it's very difficult to do both at the same time.
Consciously or unconsciously, we're constantly choosing to be engaged either in thoughts about life - or in the direct experience of life.
...maintaining a health balance between direct experience in the present moment and cognitive reflection upon that experience is the ideal mental flow for a fulfilled life."
